Objective: Mix powder and liquid raw materials into uniform slurry.
Powder Feeding: Weigh titanium dioxide, calcium carbonate and feed into the disperser by conveyors or manual feeding.
Liquid Feed: Pump resins, solvents and additives into the disperser via sealed pipelines.
High-Speed Dispersing: Mix at 800 r/min for 5 mins, then 1300 r/min for 4 mins for thorough homogenization.
Objective: Grind pigment and filler particles to target fineness, vital for coating quality.
Material Conveyance: Homogenized slurry is pumped into vertical or horizontal sand mills.
Grinding Process: Zirconia beads generate shear force inside sealed high-speed chambers to refine particles. Circulating cooling water controls temperature. Typical grinding cycle takes around 8 minutes to meet fineness standards.
For certain room-temperature coatings, after grinding, the mixture must be transferred to a separate mixing vessel for final blending.
Procedure: Further agitation is performed in the mixing vessel or mixer; if necessary, the color paste is fine-tuned according to color standards to ensure that color, viscosity, and other specifications fully meet the requirements.
In-process QC ensures finished products meet specifications. After dispersion, grinding and mixing, 0.5kg samples of each batch are tested in the QC lab. Unqualified materials go for rework; only qualified batches proceed. A 50-mesh filter at the discharge outlet removes impurities to prevent spray gun clogging during application.
The filtered finished product is conveyed through sealed piping to the filling and packaging machine.
Filling and Sealing: The packaging machine automatically completes filling, weighing (e.g., standard 25 kg per drum), sealing, and labeling.
Palletizing and Storage: The sealed finished product drums are automatically palletized onto pallets by a robotic palletizer and then transported to the warehouse via forklift.
